Heart 2 Heart Challenges : Sketch

 Hello Everyone!
This week at Heart 2 Heart our challenges is to create a cards using this sketch.  There are so many colors and themes, we all could have used for this.  It seems that almost all the DT's had Valentines on their mind.  You will see when you link over to H2H and take a look at the DT's designs. LOL!
Ms. Vicki Wizniuk from Wizard's Hangout is the Guest Designer for this week!

As some of you know, I'm quite fond of the medallions (or some people call them rosettes).  But at any rate, I just love that they can be any color and for almost any occasion.

Well I have until Midnight tonight and this is what I have created. I hope you are inspired to create this little card with the stamp of your choice.
This challenge design is by Becky Fleck from Page Maps.

My Darling Husband

Hi Everyone!
I want to share with you this picture of the Christmas present my darling husband gave to me...
Yep!  You guessed it... It's a photo studio in a box.  LOL!  My husband travels a lot for work and he just happened to be flipping through the "Sky Mall" magazine and saw this handy dandy "photo studio in a bag" kit and thought of me.  I used to use so many different things for props, take thousands of pictures to get the "Just Perfect" photo.  Well not any more!  But here is the kicker!  He ordered the BIG kit and it takes up half my work room when I set it up.  The white box takes two people to put away in its holder and now when I have to take a picture... I think about it twice. LOL!!!

But I love it and I love my honey for this very thoughtful gift.

Heart 2 Heart Challenges Blog: Animals/Birds

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to another Heart 2 Heart Challenge.  This week our challenge was to create a card using any type of animal or birds.   We have the great honor of having one of our sponsors
"Haley Dyer" join us in this weeks challenge.
Go directly to Heart 2 Heart to check out all the other designers artwork.  I know you will love each and every one of them!!!

For this card I used black cardstock as the background and I embossed it with black embossing powder using the February Stamp of the Month D1453 "Friendship".

For this crown, since I decided that it was going to hang from the ribbon, it should be the same on both sides.  So I stamped the image twice with Versamark and embossed both with silver embossing powder.  After the images were done, I cut them both and glued them together back to back and decorated the same on both side.  This way, when the crown moves, it will look the same on both sides.

Items used for this card:
Cardstock: White & Black
Z1104 Clear Sparkles
Z270 White Daisy Grosgrain Ribbon
Z670 Black embossing powder
Z669 Silver embossing powsder
Z891 VersaMark
D1452 "Find Your Style" SOTM
D1453 "Friendship" SOTM
D1441 "Royal Birth" Stamp Set
Z1096 "Neutral Assortment" Embroidery Floss

February's workshops have been scheduled and are posted on the right side bar, contact me directly if you would like to join in the fun.  Here are the pictures for Magnifique!!

These three sets of layouts were created using the "Magic" How To Book.
As stated on the CTMH website: "Bring magic to your scrapbook layouts using clever interactive techniques. You'll add hands-on excitement and dramatically increase your photo and journaling space using pop-ups, pull-outs, slides, cascades, and more! Magic™ also includes 35 gorgeous 12" x 12" layout patterns that can be used on their own or with the interactive techniques."(DVD included.)

$50 Cricut Machine!!!

Hi Everyone,

I received a message from one of my customers this morning stating that there are $50 Cricut machines at our local Ralphs stores.  After I hung the phone up I rushed tocheck it out!!!
I walked the whole store and NOTHING... after standing there for a few minutes, I found the "Customer Service" representative and inquired about the machines.  He thought about it for a little bit and then he asked me, "You mean there is a machine shaped like a cricket?????"  After I stopped laughing, I showed him a picture of it and he went to check with his manager.  I saw that the people in the little office laughed at something he said.  (Poor guy)
He came out and told me that they are being kept on top of the refrigerated isles.  I looked up and ALAS!!!
There they were all lined up with their little yellow sign that showed the original price of $149.99 and now on sale for $50.  HOORAY!!!

So call your local Ralphs and get yourself a back up Cricut, you never know....

Heart 2 Heart Challenge: Organization

Hi Everyone!
This week Heart 2 Heart Challenge is all about organization!  We get to share with all of you some of our tips and techniques we use to keep our supplies and art work organized. This was a very fun challenge, simply because I got to clean my room and now I feel so accomplished and ready to start on more creations.
Here is a snapshot of my work room. The black table cloths are $3 flat sheets from Walmart, so I have one for each of my workshop tables.  The dresser against the wall is from Ikea and I simply love it because of all the drawers.  Each drawers has organizers as you will see further down.  The wall mount is a frame I purchased at a Goodwill and I added the velvet and ribbon background.  The chandelier on the wall is a decal I purchased on Etsy.
I found this unit at Ikea and I just love it!  It fits my albums, paper trays and so much more!
The paper trays are from Scrapbook.com, click HERE for details.
I love this table because, I put all my prepped kits for my customers on the top with their buckets filled with their embellishments.  The bottom is filled with Close To My Heart product that is available for purchase.

This is my "Corner".  This is where I have my stamps, Cricut, laptop, cutters, papers, inks, adhesive, punches and all the things I need to create all my cards and layouts.  This little folding table from Costco is great because it fits over this unit I purchased at Target perfectly.  Plus this unit from Target fits CTMH organizers perfectly, there is nothing hanging out at all.  I keep extra stamps in clear folders here, CTMH acrylics organizers and in the black boxes, I have office supplies, adhesives, punches and more.
I add colored ribbons to my daubers, so I don't mix them up with other inks.  This helps out a lot because I usually don't wash my daubers every time I use them.  I usually wait a week to two weeks to wash them.
Here is my rolling scrap box! This is where all my extra paper from my kits go into.  I keep this under my table and the fact that I can roll it in and out is awesome!  I usually roll it with me to crops and it I recommend it to everyone!
This storage unit is from Walmart and it was ONLY $6!!!  Yep, I keep all my stamp set here and they fit just wonderfully.  I have them organized by letter and number and I keep a copy of the images on a binder.
These are the organizers inside the drawers for the big dresser.  They are also from Ikea and they have zippers at the bottom, so they lay flat for storage purposes.  Well... I hope you have enjoyed the trip through my workroom, as much as I have enjoyed describing it to you.  If you have any questions about any of the products here, please feel free to email me.  The email link is on the top left of blog.

Now take a look at your workroom and share with us at Heart 2 Heart Challenges some of your best organizing tips.  I would love to see how you all store your Cricut cartridges and embellishments.

CTMH Spotlight January Blog Hop: Valentine's

 Hi Everyone!
This month at the CTMH Spotlight we are featuring Valentine's Day!  It is one of my favorite days, simply because we can express our love for our friends and family more openly than any other day.  I am #8 on the blog hop list, so you should be arriving from Haley's Blog.

The inspiration for this is a Chinese Food "To Go" box.  I love it because it can work for almost any occasion and the matching fortune cookies, have special love messages attached to the ribbon.

I used the new paper packet "Sweetheart" from Close To My Heart and the matching stamp set also named "Sweetheart".  But the best part was using the new "Spray Pens" for the backgrounds.
I hope you are inspired to share the love and create some treats for all your loved ones! Next on our hop is the very talented Debbie Carriere.
Don't forget to show your love and leave a comment on your favorites, we sure do appreciate it when we your comments!!!

Cardstock Medallion with scallop border Tutorial

 Hi Everyone!
I made a little video today of the card stock medallions I used for the "Dreaming of a White Christmas" card I made this December.  I have been receiving emails with questions on "How To Make" and questions on how I got the glitter to stick on the background.  So tomorrow, I am hoping to make the video tutorial on the glittered background paper.
Oh! I do have to mention one thing... I video taped this with my digital camera, so the quality is not the greatest, but I hope it helps!  :)
